If De School wasn’t cool enough already, it certainly is now. Constantly developing and growing with innovative ideas is exactly what has earned the young club its position after having been open for just a matter of months. We can already speak of the most prodigious nightclub in the Dutch capital, and it has just come up with another great addition—enjoy art while clubbing.
The new initiative Tijdgenoten (Contemporaries) offers you the best of both worlds: a mix-up of disciplines that will transform the venue into a audiovisual haven. Each edition of Tijdgenoten will kick off with a party that marks the start of a new exhibition, which will subsequently be held in the venue.
In the forthcoming months, De School will be collaborating with a range of museums and other contemporary companies (including yours truly) to deliver the best combinations possible. First up are the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and the French/Algerian artist Mohamed Bourouissa, who will be exhibiting a photo series and three video installations until the end of November.
