Despite recent opposition against its ever-growing amount of festivals, this weekend sees Amsterdam being enriched with yet another great music event. That’s not to say this new festival is about celebrating Amsterdam, however. Instead, Strange Sounds From Beyond invites the new, the foreign, the unknown and the experimental.
Born as the brainchild of Red Light Radio, Outsiders and The Rest Is Noise, SSFB has invited heavyweights such as Omar Souleyman, Gilles Peterson, Traxx and Legowelt to the (outdoor) dancefloor, but equally introduces a daring new generation.
Glamcult is especially excited about the younger acts that mark the line-up, including Parisian DJ clara 3000. The emerging producer, Vetements party starter and Jacquemus muse is currently working on her first EP, and just days ago provided the soundtrack to Demna Gvasalia’s hyped menswear debut at Balenciaga.
Strange Sounds From Beyond takes place this coming Sunday, 26 June, at the picturesque Noorderlicht. The very last tickets are now on sale.
