A love story between space and object
Saskia Noor van Imhoff opens exhibition at Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam.
Best known for her distinguished approach to exhibition spaces, Stedelijk is currently showcasing the work of Saskia Noor van Imhoff. The exhibition #+23:00 was officially opened last Friday and shows an installation in which the artist focuses on the Stedelijk collection, as well as the architecture of the halls. The museum is the subject, inspired by a concrete examination of the place and its collections. Making use of replicas, everyday objects and borrowed paintings, Van Imhoff combines works without hierarchy—undoubtedly triggering a lot of debate. Can you actually place someone else’s work in (a lack of) order? What are the connotations of object and idea, and their relation to each other? With #+23:00, Stedelijk is once again engaging with the upcoming artist generation. The museum has just extended its opening hours to include Friday evenings, offering a wide selection of activities ranging from discussion panels to film screenings and fashion shows.
