“France is what I live by, Japan is my muse”

Nattofranco offers the best of both worlds.

Noemie Aiko Sebayashi, better known as the brain behind Nattofranco, is taking on fashion from her very own perspective. The 25-year-old designer is convinced that her unique style is a result of her dual nationality. Drawing influences from both her French and Japanese roots, Noemie considers that “balance is life’s greatest philosophy”. Her label strives to supply equilibrium; representing both parts of her identity within each piece she designs.

Born in the cosmopolitan, creative hub that is Paris, and studying at a Parisian fashion school for two years, Noemie’s flare for fashion was vitalized. Having just released her sixth collection—with coverage by the likes of Dazed and i-D—it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Glamcult is closely following Nattofranco as one to watch.

Declaring on her website, “France is what I live by, Japan is a muse”, and taking inspiration from the seventies, eighties and Japanese thrift stores—we can see just where Noemi got inspired for her latest work. We were also lucky enough to get an exclusive preview of the designer’s latest endeavor: a story revealing a dreamy mix of vintage and archive pieces and Nattofranco S/S17 designs. Revel in the zany, youthful and fresh!
