Just in case you missed it, HUGO recently opened its brand new Amsterdam store. Such an occasion deserves a proper party, so we’ve teamed up with the iconic fashion brand—which keeps going back to its Berlin roots for inspiration—to bring you a night for the books. Taking over Warehouse Elementenstraat on the 4th of October, we’ve invited three of our favourite DJs in the world right now.
From zero to one hundred in a matter of seconds, first up is Herrensauna resident CEM. Inspired by a wide range of underground influences, from ’90s rave to hardcore punk, Cem Dukkha is known for infusing each of his high-intensity, moody appearances with a self-described “pinch of sex”. Recently releasing must-hear sets on i-D and Crack, and making standout appearances at De School and Bassiani, among others, prepare for the type of techno that’ll drive you into a sweaty trance.
Known for her outspoken take on electronic music, the sound of Umfang strikes the perfect balance between darkness and light. Not only as a prolific techno DJ and producer, but also as co-founder of Discwoman of Technofeminism, the New York City-based artist has been leaving an ever-growing mark on the industry—and she’s only just beginning. Always bent on pushing people out of their comfort zone, get ready to do just that (and make your limbs go wild).
There’s more, however. Between CEM and Umfang, we’ll have a special guest visiting the DJ booth. The dystopian sounds and sets of this dance music veteran make grounds tremble from Detroit to Berlin, and Amsterdam will definitely be no different. So, keep an eye on Glamcult in the coming weeks for more information about the party, and see you soon. On the dancefloor, that is.
