Be prepared to get lost as you transcend into the carefully crafted audiovisual realm of Gorillaz. Filled with an almost eerie, unfathomable eminence and saturated with surrealistic delight, the collaborative endeavor between the Grammy-award winning band and global music brand Sonos is set to bring you an immersive experience you won’t forget.
Virtual supergroup Gorillaz first made name in 2001 upon releasing their ‘self-titled’, critically acclaimed debut album. Today, the British band is known for its highly tacit digital performances and animated visuals. After seven long years, the anticipated album Humanz is set to release on the 28th of April. To accompany its release, a full-fledged and immersive music encounter has been constructed, allowing you into the wondrous world of Murdoc, 2D, Russel and Noodle. High-tech projection mapping and physical installations, as well as the band’s exclusive musical offering brought to you on the new Sonos PLAYBASE, will elevate you to a higher mental and physical plain.
Gorillaz’ Spirit House will travel to a select three cities across the globe—starting out in NYC, followed by Berlin and finally touching base in our dear city Amsterdam. Due to wide interest, Glamcult collaborators De School will be hosting the event on the 6th of May, allowing you to get accompanied with the animated spirits of the widely heralded band as they pull you into the sacred space of their home.
There’s no need to reserve a spot, but make sure you’re on time as access will be first-come, first-served. Can’t wait? Get a head start on accustoming yourself to the AV surroundings and listen to Saturnz Barnz alias Spirit House here.
