This Dutch fashion collective is set to impress

Four young designers explore the tension between individual and collective identity.

As a collective with four young minds working together, Das Leben am Haverkamp is prepped-and-ready to present brand new collections at Amsterdam Fashion Week. Following on from their recent show-stopping artwork at De School—in collaboration with yours truly—we are more than excited to see what’s next.

With all designers—Anouk van Klaveren, Christa van der Meer, Dewi Bekker and Gino Anthonisse—having their own individual label, the up-and-coming talents have chosen to present their work together to flaunt their shared vision of the current fashion and design world. Creating designs that breach boundaries whilst using a refreshingly unpolished way of working, the four creatives describe fashion as a paradox; a “tension between individual and collective identity… it lays bare to who you are, who we are and who we no longer want to be.”

For their new collections, the four are trying to disconnect from the structured and strategic fashion system, and really focus on how and where their work relates to identity. Showing on 26 January at Transformatorhuis, these talents are sure to put on a show that’ll be hard to forget. Have a look at their campaign here.
