“I was always left feeling raw, ill-fitted to reality”
Listening to the ethereal and cathartic soundscapes of TSUNAINA has always been an enveloping experience. The multi-disciplinary creative seems to hold the key to life’s self-reflective moments, and through music allows her listeners to join her on this vulnerable journey. Sharing with us her latest single Tenderer, TSUNAINA guides us further down this path as she contemplates her own sense of self after living life as a canvas whilst working in the fashion industry.
The single comes alongside a video, directed by TSUNAINA herself, alongside co-creatives Jake Jelicich and Justin Ridler featuring the 3D words of David Guerrero. Describing this creative experience, Tsunaina explains, “I felt that no matter how much I tried to mould myself, to build armour and adapt to the world, I was always left feeling raw, ill-fitted to reality,” and so with this new venture, “slowly, I began a process of sinking into being tender; if I am soft-shaped then I can rebuild myself whole, again and again”.
