Peep the boat shoe
Very few brands can proclaim heritage quite like Timberland. The brand, beginning its story back in 1952, all started with Nathan Swartz and the Abington Shoe Company. Later transitioning into Timberland in 1973 with the OG boot, yep, you guessed it… the “timberland”, it was around this time (1978), the iconic 3-eye lug handsewn boat shoe was also crafted. This momentous beginning is not lost on the Timberland-team of 2022 and has today been re-imagined to fit the spring/summer mindset. Welcome the GreenStride™ Ray City EK+ Boat Shoes and the GreenStride™ TBL® Originals Ultra EK+ Boat Shoes, combining the classic look with the new Greenstride™ soles.
Made from a combo of renewable sugar cane and responsibly-sourced tree rubber, these naturally lightweight (and comfy) shoes have the planet in mind. The fabric lining is also made of 50% recycled plastic, with an EVA-blend foam midsole for your cushiony journeys. This is all a part of Timberland’s Earthkeepers® Edition, which uses regenerative leather sourced from restorative agricultural farms.
The launch of this collection is titled, Generation Boat; a celebration of both the shoe and its evolution within today’s cultural landscape. This is not just about the shoe, but the people who wear it (and how they wear it), showcasing the iconic streetwear-boat shoe combo and the beachy shores. The shoe is available now online and is also featured in TimbsTrails (a digital experience taking you through Timberland history), so check it out, style it out and peep the boat shoe.
