With every issue of Glamcult comes a period of reflection and anticipation. A feeling of intense pride and (let’s be honest), a sigh of relief, as the energy-capsule we have been germinating for the past six months expands into the world. We may have been doing this for the past eighteen years – holy shit – but the trepidation never goes away. This season, after two years of darkness, we felt urged to hold close to our collective pleasures, approaching the themes of nightlife, sex and punk with a microscopic lens. Here, we call upon our people; view fashion through their lens, hearing music that has been bursting with the emotions of yesteryear, and perceiving art that engages with an agency, separate from political and sociological definements. This is our Joyride. It has been a trip, a journey, a rollercoaster – but also a meditative gaze into the pace at which we move throughout the world (and the ever-accelerating zeitgeist of today). Joyride is ours, yours and whoever wishes to venture into the underground palace of sub-culture.
