The dawn is coming
Russian for Dawn, RASSVET (aka. PACCBET) is the skateboarding brand revitalising the cultural space. Founded in 2016 by Gosha Rubchinskiy and Tolia Titaev their ongoing presence within the art, fashion, photography community is one we love to see. Consistently envigorating change, it was Paris Fashion Week’s turn to see the squad come together, unveiling this special collaboration with our beloved Slava Mogutin. Since the pairs first meeting back in Moscow circa 2005, Mogutin and Rubchinskiy have been creating cross-continentally, as this zine marks the third project they have produced together.
Under the banner, РАССВЕТ НЕ ЗА ГОРАМИ (THE DAWN IS COMING), this isn’t your average FW21 collection. Creating a zine using Mogutin’s legendary eye – we see an array of images, polaroids and candids showing off the collection of shirts and shirts, hoodies and sweaters, socks, scarfs and skateboards. Incorporating the beloved DIY energy both names are known for, the collection features many of Mogutin’s friends, Queer youth and fellow artists. There are many pieces here we can’t wait to get our hands on – including an exquisite striped-knit hoodie in both a blue and orange colourway alongside some punk tees looking straight out of a creative mind’s notebook.
In celebrating the launch of the collaboration, a site-specific multimedia exhibition will take place on October 1st at 3537, a new art space in Le Marais located at 35-37 rue des Francs-Bourgeois. The exhibition will remain on view through October 8th so we highly recommend you check it out! And, like us, if you’re not quite Paris-bound, make sure to check out the pieces and zine at Dover Street Market and Comme des Garçons stores, as well as speciality skate shops worldwide.
