Describing themselves as an art collection, Brooklyn-born creative community MSCHF has just premiered their latest joy-infuser, the Big Red Boots. Although the brand has become infamous for its outlandish footwear, they have stepped beyond the sneaker world and landed somewhere between the world of pop art, footwear and fashion. The shoe — said to be inspired by Dora the Explorer’s bestie, ‘boots’ — unifies the spheres of reality and fantasy. Championing a straightforward approach to design: fun being at the forefront, it’s hard not to get lost in the playful whimsy of MSCHF and envision the flocks of fashion-lovers joining this not-so-serious shoe trend.
Giving a gravity-free illusion, the shoe is made from TPU rubber, with a soft, grooved sole. Branding is missed, however, a subtle logo can be found on the shoe’s sole. Celebrating the launch, American actress, model and influencer, Sarah Snyder can be seen stomping the streets of the brands home town, New York.
Fun, freedom-bound and an outfit-takeover, the boot will be available February 16th on MSCHF’s online shop.
