In times like these, where the future seems unsure and dark, subcultures emerge to shine a light of hope. Formerly known (and loved by the Amsterdam scene) as Piet Oosterbeek, Pieter Numan‘s new book ‘No Love Lost’ celebrates the importance of countercultures – documenting their existence through photography. Numan’s new work captures the Antwerp collective around musician and all-round artist Kleine Crack, whose dark and raw aesthetics become a post-punk lens, reflecting contemporary universal themes whilst nurturing and promoting a borderless youth culture. As he was completely revolutionising the Belgian music scene, Glamcult’s radar caught Crack’s flashing presence with a feature interview in the DAWN ISSUE and a performance at Glamcult Selects x Echobox – his intoxicating energy has officially expanded beyond Belgian borders. Numan’s photobook will launch this Saturday, July 20th, at Galerie de Schans, along with an exhibition and a performance by the Flemish artist. Step into Kleine Crack’s subversive world and grab a copy of Pieter Numan’s ‘No Love Lost’ – an absolute testament to the urgency of subcultures.
