Channelling our inner goddess
With the experimental vision of founder Sungbin Hong, the eponymous label, nigbnus is a name you should keep in mind. Founded only three years ago, the brand skyrocketed onto the scene through its redefinition of ready-to-wear. At the heart of their latest collection lies the deity of Mago – the creator goddess found in ancient Korean mythology. Unravelling like different chapters in scripture, each look is a visual portrayal of a deity that resides in every woman. Here, the wearer becomes the muse. With Hong’s contemporary edge, Mago receives a modern It-girl makeover – with oversized fur coats to belt tops and a lot of leather. Heart-shaped motifs and reappearing drawstrings have an elegant finish, adding class to a y2k reminiscing aesthetic. From her own South Korean heritage to Parsons, Central Saint Martins and training under Marc Jacobs, Hong’s pile of experience all merge into one beautiful body of work. Feminine and fearless, MAGO is the perfect collection for the post-girl boss generation.
