On show @ 10·Corso·Como from May 16th
Calling all fashion girlies and their “I only shop on GRAILED” boyfriends! The iconic Milanese art gallery 10·Corso·Como will unveil Yohji Yamamoto. Letter to the future May 16th. An exhibition dedicated to the work of the legendary Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto, who provoked and inspired the fashion industry for decades. Adoro!
The project, curated by Alessio de’ Navasques, includes Yamamoto’s most iconic runway pieces, recent and future collections creating a continuity between past and present. Known as the poet of black, Yamamoto’s collections have redefined the idea of beauty, subverting stereotypes in pursuit of a universal silhouette, where clothes become words in a literature of the relationship between body and space. Yamamoto’s approach allows the body to transcend traditional gender codes, transforming it into a dynamic force that interacts with the dress, and creating a new dimension and meaning to the garments.
From May 16th to July 31st, the rooms of 10·Corso·Como will be completely dedicated to the designer’s garments, creating a space where shape, cut, and geometry work together to convey a new idea of the future. Make sure to wear YOUR BEST archive piece and we’ll see you there! 😉
