Hey Salome! How fun to have you friday <3 How are you today?
Excited as ever! I’m always pumped to be playing in Amsterdam—it has that special vibe that makes everything feel electric.
We take pride in that! How has your journey with electronic music evolved over time? Can you remember the moment you fell in love with electronic music?
I used to be surrounded by music at a very young age. I was dancing, practicing, but my love for electronic music took hold during a trip to Kyiv. It felt like a whole new world had opened up, it blew my mind and sparked like an epiphany.
From that, how did you land into DJing?
It happened pretty naturally! My friends and surroundings in the music scene pulled me in, plus I’ve always been a total music obsessive. DJing felt like the next step after that pivotal moment in Kyiv. Once I started exploring different scenes and cities, I felt this urge to create and share my own take on electronic music.
How has living across Tbilisi and Berlin, as well as encountering diverse subcultures around Europe, informed your sound?
Both cities have shaped me in unique ways. Growing up in Georgia, with the raw, politically charged energy of the local scene, left a lasting mark on me, giving my music a sense of urgency and edge. Moving to Berlin was a game-changer; it allowed me the freedom to explore and experiment, bringing versatility into my sound.
I would love to know more about your connection to your Georgian heritage. In what ways does it influence your work? What is the scene in Georgia like now?
Georgia’s musical traditions, like folk and dance, have given me a deep appreciation for rhythm and melody. There’s a unique emotional intensity in our music, which I try to channel in my sets. The scene in Georgia today is vibrant and politically active, with clubs leading protests and creating safe spaces for self-expression.
So important. On that note, what defines a good crowd for you?
Open-mindedness! I love a crowd that’s up for a journey, that’s willing to go beyond the expected. When people are receptive to different styles and unexpected tracks, it creates a dynamic energy that lets us connect in a deeper way through the music.
You always manage to find electro tracks that have so much personality within them. What do you look for in a track?
Boldness! I look for tracks that have that “bass face” factor, something with grit and character. If a track makes me feel something raw or unexpected, that’s when I know it’s going to resonate.
And when you’re piecing together a set, how do you go about blending these elements?
I usually have a rhythm or groove in my head that could connect with what’s playing, and I find a way to flow from one track to the next. It’s like building a conversation; each track adds to the energy and tells its own part of the story.
Where do you see your music evolving to in the future?
I’ll stay true to my style, but I’m definitely excited to evolve and grow. I’m always exploring new elements that feel authentic to me.
What can we expect from your set on Friday?
High energy, a little sass, a little grit, and definitely a strong groove! I can’t wait to see where the night takes us.
Can’t wait!
