Loops Never End

Basquiat once said, “I don’t think about art when I’m working. I try to think about life.” This quote is one many (including myself) struggle to obtain; often forgetting to see the process beyond the end goal. We can find ourselves living in three separate loops – work – art – life – which rarely intersects. However, sitting in the dark (and might I add, exceptionally comfy) cinema seats at Soho House late last month, I was confronted with a moment in which this intersection occurred, with Ella Alex as the creator. Launching her debut single directed by Puck Litaay, Loops Never End, Ella Alex exemplified her creative purity. And after many years of honing her craft — whether that be singing in church, finding her community, exploring identity, or searching for self-growth  — Ella Alex is now ready to release her debut single and video to the world. Doing so with a bang!
