Let the music play…
Jeshi dropped his latest single, Air Raid last week, forcing us to scan the skies for what is expected to be a hailing of new releases… It’s been over a year since the East-London wordsmith unleashed his critically acclaimed debut album Universal Credit, immersing listeners into a profound narrative of hazy late-nights and self-destruction- pronouncing the pitfalls of British culture. After receiving recognition and accolades for Universal Credit the AIM Award winner starts afresh, proclaiming to listeners that the ‘suit of armour don’t fit me…let the music play’. Pulling us back into the music with razor-sharp lyricism and a no-nonsense delivery. Jeshi ducks between the hypnotic thumps of an off-beat rhythm, emerging with a champion flow filled that undying hunger to get things off his chest. In addition to the release, Air Raid is followed by an absurd but poignant video, staring a knight in perhaps not-so-shining armour, on his quest to find Jeshi amongst the dim lights of a pub somewhere in London.
