Gucci goes into space (and beyond)

There are very few brands that can match the momentousness of the iconic works of Stanley Kubrick. But in showcasing their F/W ’22 collection, Gucci has done just that. The collection — which also features the much-loved Adidas collab — is loud, lary and straight out of a movie, making the moss-green frills and deep purple beret’s a perfect match to the scenes of The Shining,  A Space Odyssey, Eyes Wide Shut and more. This is a love letter to cinema and the intoxicating world curations of Kubrick, where each piece plays a role in creating a new character and a new narrative. One of our favourite moments of this entire campaign is the reenactment of a scene in Barry Lydon, where a model can be seen wearing the cream Gucci X Adidas gown, rocking a black lip unfazed amongst all the pompous.

Much respect to Alessandro Michele for conceptualising this campaign and bringing back to light the playfulness of fashion.
