Cottons in every colour and soothing hues of tops and tanks!
Last Sunday, a warm honey combed space for love, monochrome hues, cotton and sharing opened its doors! The ‘classics brand for the modern woman’, Flore Flore, is now sold at Carmen Amsterdam.
Flore Flore has expanded its wings from being an Amsterdam-based shop to a globally sought after brand. Founded by Florian van Zuilen, Flore Flore is a baby born in 2021, carrying a little bit of Copenhagen and NY fashion from van Zuilen’s work with major brands there: Diane von Furstenberg and GANNI. Her concept is chic basics. Flore Flore bridges comfort and movement within clothing, with classic silhouettes and tailored edges. She is the third generation woman in her family to work in fashion and draws from her mother, grandmother and female friends as a source of propelling inspiration and revitalisation. Produced by a mother-daughter duo in Portugal, everything about Flore Flore speaks to organic bonds, relationships and support from the ground up (made with 100% organic cotton).
Flore Flore’s collaboration with Carmen is more than you may expect. The triple-enticing ice cream sundae with a blushing red cherry on top: Carmen is a guesthouse, kitchen and shop in Amsterdam, where a quality of simplicity, taste and niche aesthetics linger in its creaking wood. A light and refreshing place that offers a bed in the city centre, a deliciously experimental meal, and classy basics to neutralise your wardrobe. If you want to know more just take a look at their style guides on the online shop, from categories of library, party, to self care.
Carmen marks the space of harmony between the Carmen and Flore Flore communities; a place which has embroidered a cotton-y home infused dream. Both businesses have influenced and continue to influence each other in a web of fine edged seasonal creations and innovations. For this collaboration the Flore Flore team invited Amsterdammers to come by with a lovely message: “We want to understand what you like, how things suit your body, and which colours you are drawn to.”. The collection underscores an attention to detail amidst the minimalism of the pieces. If you look closely you can not only find tempting eye candies of white tees, navy camisoles, and soothing olive green long sleeves, but also varying necklines, double stitching and a folded shoulder seam for a slightly emphasised shoulder look. The tops are a versatile selection of pieces that envelope you in thick-softness. The white tank, our favourite, which carries an elegance of its own, lets you glide through a warming season, and provides a blueprint for a cute pairing on any day.
Skip your way to the home-y doors of Carmen to gather your favourite tees and tanks!
