…Oh, AND releases the single, Pure Smile Snake Venom with Sega Bodega
Our avant-pop superstar, Eartheater, is the experimental artist, composer, songwriter and producer we have been listening to non-stop since the release of her Trinity record. After soaking in every second of her past two (full-length) albums, we are excited to announce the launch of her third, Powders, on her very own label Chemical X, on September 20th. Creating within the intersection of electronic experimentation and acoustic textures, Eartheater takes us on a journey of possibility. Have we already given the album a listen? We can’t say (yes), but we hear from a VERY reliable source that it’s a masterpiece ?.
The first track and video to be released from the album is Pure Smile Snake Venom, directed by Daniel Sannwald, drawing inspiration from the “origin of the smile”, and how baring teeth within the animal kingdom has now become an invitation in the human world. Eartheater, however, assures, “I bare my fangs just to let you know / That I like you” […] ”I choose not to bite you.” Like a human breaking away from our slithering, snake-like history, Eartheater alongside esteemed artist, Anna Uddenberg, re-sculptures the scene, as we see the singer-producer emerge from a cold lake of venom.
Check out the video and track below, and set your diaries for September 20th!
