The new force of the musical underground!
Committed to giving a platform to emerging talents, we’ve teamed with Dr. Martens to unveil Glamcult TV and our new Glamcult Store! For three days of non-stop celebration, immerse yourself in an exclusively curated lineup by our select artists.
True to their counter-culture roots, Dr. Martens will be bringing their signature edge to our new space by showcasing their latest 1460 collection featuring the innovative 1460 Sub Boot and 14XX Sub Boot. The collection is a harmonious embodiment of the past and present, drawing upon Dr Martens’ timeless legacy while facing towards the future. The ambition was to level up and evolve a workwear silhouette designed specifically for wet weather environments (basically the perfect shoe for Amsterdam) all tied together by a removable wind and waterproof camo print gaiter.
In Joel Wilson’s own words, “14XX is pure design exploration”. The ‘14’ pays homage to when it all began for Dr. Martens: the 1st of April 1960 (1/4/60) and the XX serves as a symbol of the unknown, which stands for the potential to evolve and depart from something classic, functioning as an incubator for new materials and methods to be tested before exploring their potential to join the mainline styles. Similarly, our three-day event and Glamcult TV are incubators of the talents shaping the soundscape of today. A space for bubbling creativity and a diverse yet connected community.
Come and witness the experimental flow between the live curated DJ sets by Glamcult TV and the Dr.Martens pop-up on 18-20 October at the brand new Glamcult Store. And guess what? bThe best part is the shoes will remain available at the Glamcult Store a little longer in case you can’t make it!
As for the lineup:
FRIDAY: Toccororo, the Cuban-Spanish powerhouse, will be gracing the decks. As a central figure in Madrid’s queer scene, her background in performance and dance makes her connect with audiences on a deeper level. Her energetic set and taste encompasses the most eclectic Latin electronic music and will leave you wanting more.
SATURDAY: The prince of post-punk Parrish Smith doesn’t believe in conforming to the rules of being a DJ. Staying unpredictable with touches of punk and IDM in his sets, his heavy and energetic style stands as a beacon of freedom. Parrish Smith stays trying to challenge the current streams with each performance being more memorable than the previous. Trust us, your ears (and your soul) will thank you later!
SUNDAY: Next up is Naaz, a Kurdish independent artist with melodies that have the power to heal. Through her music, she is able to shape and reshape the notion of musical genres exploring the themes of identity, empowerment, and cultural pride. Her distinctive voice, coupled with intricate production will have you hooked!
Come celebrate the launch of Glamcult TV with @DRMARTENS – 18, 19 and 20 October
