Putting the run on the runway
Whimsical beauty and Scandinavian simplicity sum up the identity behind Cecilie Bahnsen and the SS ’23 collection. A vision of lace, puff sleeves, and monochromatic doll dresses, the show this PFW left us feeling all things ethereal, and all spring. Teaming up with Japanese activewear brand ASICS, the pair came together for this season’s presentation, sharing an array of up-cycled trainers which put the run on the runway. The fusion created a delicate balance, portraying the fluidity of functionality. Gone are the days a dress needs a heel or a trainer needs a tracksuit. Describing a sense of “commonality” between “the importance of movement and well-being”, it is ASICS’ 70 years of expertise and Cecile’s careful embellishments which make this limited edition shoe so special. Featuring hand-stitched floral beads and appliqués, the GEL-1090, GEL-1130, GEL-NIMBUS 9, GEL-NIMBUS 23 and GEL-NIMBUS 24’s are adorned with grace. In addition to this being a creative project, Cecilie Bahnsen and ASICS, are also donating all proceeds from the sales of the limited edition show to the international non-profit organization, Right To Play.
This is a one-of-a-kind collection made up of only 50 pairs of trainers, so make sure to get a pair whilst you can!
