Cassyette returns with a pop-punk anthem Friends In Low Places

In anticipation of her debut album This World Fucking Sucks

The nu-gen alternative pop-punk icon Cassyette teases us with a new single release, Friends In Low Places – a cathartic anthem dedicated to the uplifting power of friendship. Having caught up with the punk it-girl amidst her tour a couple of months back, we’re excited to see (and listen to) the unfolding of her highly anticipated album, This World Fucking Sucks.

Friends in Low Places is the last song I added to the album,’ Cassyette shares. ‘It felt like the final piece of the puzzle after writing a record about times of hardship, while grieving my dad, getting clean after struggling with addiction and ending a long term relationship.’ In a culture where romance tends to be the dominating narrative that gets all the spotlight in music, it is so refreshing to hear a love song celebrating platonic love. As the drums come crashing down and Cassyette’s voice breaks through, we are reminded of the overwhelming appreciation we hold for those who stick by us through the toughest of times.
