From custom logos, and a celebration of the city to THE Joan Collins
The highly unexpected Calvin Klein x Palace collab has officially entered the stratosphere, unveiling with it not only some solid brands staples but also a fresh CK ONE perfume and a flurry of intriguingly familiar faces. It’s safe to say this fusion lands a place in hype-heaven, portraying a physical projection of everything the duo stand for; comfortability, authenticity, brand-appreciating and the community spirit. Coming in the classic Clavin Klein colourways: white, black, great and beige (“wheat”), this collaboration also features the introduction of a new custom logo. Taking inspiration from the iconic ‘Calvin Klein’ waistband motif, we now see ‘Calvin Klein Palace’ mash-up, so you can whip your briefs out with style the way every #MYCALVINS superstar has inspired us to do.
This collection is vast, featuring everything from a basic tee, comfy fleeces, hoodies, sweatshirts, an epic baseball vest, jeans and denim jackets alongside, you know… THE aforementioned underwear.
Alongside the apparel pieces, this collab also comes with two unique surprises. Firstly, the perfume. This is a new version of the famed (for good reason) CK ONE fragrance. This is the very first time the scent has been adapted, with Palace adding in a sprinkle of Frosted Mandarin, Oakmoss and Violet Leaf tones. The second surprise you ask? The Calvin Klein x Vans trainer sneak-peak. A monogrammed shoe sporting the “CALVANS” mashup, printed across the go-to classic Van.
Now, we can’t do a write-up on this collab without mentioning the cast. Did we think we were hallucinating when we first saw the campaign? Yes. Do we love it? Also yes. Shot by Alasdair McLellan between London and New York, we see the likes of Palace skaters Lucien Clarke and Charlie Birch, actors Willem Dafoe and the breathtaking Dame Joan Collins, Lola Leon, Adwoa Aboah, Precious Lee and British rapper, Unkown T.
Ultimately, this is a collaboration of grandiosity, one we predict to be seen, worn and loved far and wide. Available from April 8th via Palace online, Calvin Klein online and across selected brand stores.
