Collabs have been coming hot and heavy recently, and let’s be honest…. they’re not all hits! ASICS, however, has slapped me right round the face as I gaze into the creation that is  The ASICS X VIVIENNE WESTWOOD GEL-KAYANO™ 26. Inspired by ‘sack shoes’ (I mean…of course), these new trainers are V.W’s second collaboration with the brand and comes nearly a year after the New Romantic shoe of the decade. Derived from traditional footwear, the sack-shoe is inspired by the Victorian age and the large pieces of leather which were often used to wrap feet. Making this my all-time-favourite ASICS collab, it’s hard to stop gushing and get into the details! But, here we go! The original, double-layered mesh is made up of Ripstop anti-tear nylon, which is accompanied by a simplistic lace-system, which, alongside the elastic webbing structure is an easy-to-wear design. Paying tribute to Vivienne Westwood’s iconic sack shoe, ASICS, of course, popped in their modern-day technology and embedded in a METACLUTCH ™ external heel and reflective shields. If this doesn’t relight a fire under an abundance of collabs, I don’t know what will! Check out the trainers today, and rock some ultimate shoe-finery as we step into the autumnal seasons.
