Daily Paper on “giving back to the motherland through raising funds to support global migration issue”
Marking the second edition of Daily Paper‘s ‘A Love for Humanity’, this latest collaboration with Yohanna Alen has been created to support refugees globally.
Describing herself as “a curious person” who is keen to “try new avenues”, Yohanna Alen is a designer, exploring the frontlines of fashion with a clear focus on heritage and humanitarianism. Relaunching the limited edition t-shirt, all proceeds will be going to their partners: Restore the Motherland NGO, a youth-led nonprofit whose mission is “to break the barriers between children and education in Africa” and Asmlash Grant Foundation, a foundation supporting Tigrayans through disaster relief and many other causes.
The T-shirt is designed to reflect the simple — yet forever sought after — notion of loving all humans, providing a reminder that love is always stronger. Explaining the concept further, Yohanna divulges, “this t-shirt shows a mother and her child fleeing with nothing more than what they could grab, not knowing where they will end up or if they will ever return. The crayons are significant as it is the tool I wanted to use to show the purity and simplicity in the message’. Shot on an improvised patchwork bed (made of multiple t-shirts), everything about this collaboration is warm, welcoming and symbolic of the concept of ‘home’.
The ‘A Love For Humanity’ Tee will retail for €60 and will launch globally online at dailypaperclothing.com on Thursday June 16th at 12 PM CEST. Also, you can read the full interview with the artist by Daily Paper here!
