AVAVAV hits the track: MFW '25

The brand that never shy away from a viral moment

There’s never a dull second when AVAVAV hits the runway – and this season, the brand takes their tongue-in-cheek irreverent theatrics to the track. Collaborating with adidas, AVAVAV boldly subverts the brand’s long-lasting legacy of athletic-wear and high-performance values into an ironic attempt to beat the 100m record, where each model gives into their exhaustion, frustration, and distraction from the very start. Within this, the closing act of MFW provides a much-needed comedic relief amidst the self-seriousness of both the fashion and sports worlds to close off a very intense season.

Stirring up a viral (and somewhat controversial) runway moment is an AVAVAV specialty, but beyond the witty provocation lies impressive and thought-through fashion. The over-exaggerated play with proportions in oversized puffers and floaty tracksuit dresses is a playful touch, while optical illusion body-painted jacket enters a whole new level of elusiveness. As always, the devil is in the details, and the iconic Three Stripes meet the iconic four fingers of AVAVAV’s elongated toe-boots, and are extended as shoe laces dangling from baseball caps. Another highlights are the striped hard leather kitten heels and, of course, the 2016’s fav Superstar handbags, elevating the absurdity of the track race.
