Despite her young age, flowerovlove has hit the music scene like no other, winning over the hearts of Gen Z with her relatable lyrics and radiant personality. We had the chance to chat with her about her music journey, latest obsessions, and the making of BOYS.

Hey hey! How are you doing today?
Hiiii, I’m feeling swell! I’m currently in Los Angeles writing some gorgeous music!

What have been your latest obsessions?
My latest obsessions have been cookie dough ice cream, croc platforms, the new glossier ultra lip, tighter than usual hugs and ‘Boyfriends’ by Harry styles :3

Could you walk me through the journey that has led you to where you are today?
Sooo my brother, Wilfred, actually encouraged me to start, because he started producing. And then, this is so ironic now, I wrote my first song ever and it ended up being a rap song ahah.

And how would you say you’ve grown from when you began making music to now?
I’d say I’ve grown more confident as a writer. I used to overthink a lot and think that there was a right thing to sing, but in all honesty melodies come first and story comes after. Now after all the practice, it just comes so easily.

Where do you get your inspiration from? Any unusual places?
I mostly get inspiration from stuff happening in my life! It’s so insane some of the stuff that happens in my life is so out of a movie so thankfully I always have lots to write about ahah.

Was there a moment where you felt like your sound really fell into place?
I think after I wrote ‘I love this song.’ I felt like my sound really made sense and I was like ‘yeah this is what I wanna make’.

What are you reading at the moment?
I’m actually not reading at all right now, I’ve mostly been journaling. I definitely don’t read as much as I used to just because I prefer to meditate.

What song would be on the soundtrack of your life?
Probably the ‘Best Day Of My Life’ song or ‘1979’ by The Smashing Pumpkins

Fav memory while making BOYS?
Mhhhm, I’d say one of my fav memories was probably when I was getting picked on about the boy who the song is about lol!!! Everyone in the room figured me out. :p

How would you say this song fits into the world of your music and storytelling?
Well I grew up as the biggest stan and this is me unleashing it! I genuinely LOVE LOVE LOVE being a fangirl. I mean, it’s mostly about obsessing over boys but also being a fangirl in general, and this song just felt like me putting a sunlight on it.

OMG Harry Styles and Rosalía hands down!

What do you daydream about?
To be honest I daydream about everything I want coming into place! But also about just being in a Windows desktop place, just laying down on the grass while being in utter peace and there’s a waterfall somewhere nearby…
