As we usher in another Lunar New Year, the spirit of excitement, renewal, and prosperity fills the air. Tomorrow, February 10th, marks the official start of the year of the dragon, a year that holds a special place of reverence and awe. Known for its strength and wisdom, the dragon symbolises power, good fortune, and transformation. So, it’s time to celebrate. And as always, Glamcult is here to curate. New year, new shoes – that’s our motto at least. Luckily for us KEEN is releasing a special set of shoes for the new year. Coming out tomorrow, Keen is celebrating the Year of the Dragon through special classics. Infusing two of their iconic silhouettes, the Jasper and UNEEK, with vibrant symbolist, KEEN pays homage to the rich tapestry of culture behind the New Year Adorned with intricate dragon embroidery, symbolising resilience, these shoes are more than footwear; they are a fusion of heritage and contemporary design, a celebration of global culture and timeless style – and yes, they are mentally in our shopping cart already.
London, this one is for you. Dover Street Market has been collaborating with BAO for the past few weeks, offering special stands for the new year. This special collab is ending Sunday so basically this is a must must see for this weekend. Here, pick up Taiwanese snacks from the BAO food stall, and while you’re at it, may as well browse the special pop-up stalls, from Carhartt WIP to Simone Rocha, featuring special New Years items.
As many of you may have seen, Sandy Liang threw an iconic Year of the Dragon party. But don’t worry, Liang has our backs as the FOMO kicks in. The New York IT-brand has supplied us with a Lunar New Year Capsule collection. Ranging from Jade necklaces to the all red accessories we need for the year. Our fav piece from the collection is the Milano Bag in Red – AKA the bag known of us knew we needed until this moment.
Paul Smith “The Woman and the Moon” Exhibition
Opening tomorrow, Paul Smith is putting on a special exhibition in his flagship store in London featuring a wide array of female Chinese Artists. Spanning across artistic disciplines, the exhibition aims to explore how Chinese identity manifests in the 21st century through the lens of womanhood and femininity. Curated by Gemma A. Williams, author of Fashion China, this exhibition is def worth the visit.
Yat Pit, the minimal spiritual brand aiming to reinterpret tradition into modern clothes, and Victoria, the Hong Kong street wear skate brand, have come together for the collab of the year. Their special New Year collection blends the energy of both distinct brands, bridging their communities through their Chinese heritage and just darn good clothes. There is a special liveliness to this collection that has instantly put it on our shopping list. So why not go spend a little money this weekend?
