As we slowly begin to freeze within the icy walls of January, those warm summer memories seem to drift further and further away. What will keep us sane till that time comes around again? Luckily, Swedish rapper Blå Värld, brings us the perfect post summer-blues single ‘down by the river’, to restore our sunny nostalgia.
Blå Värld’s quirky lyrics step through the off-beat instrumental filled with echoing oriental instruments, gradually painting the story of a not-so-perfect summer romance. Joining him on the track is Reggae legend Eek-A-Mouse, who hovers above the music with philosophical lyrics, occasionally showering down with deep and soul filling melodies.
‘down by the river’ is the fourth single leading up to Blå Värld’s debut album HÆRTBRÆK CITY, on Hong Kong label Silk Road Sounds.
