One of our favourite (cult) publishers has announced the release of its new hit. And it’s undoubtedly big. IDEA are celebrating the release of their eighth publication this year, and it’s what we’ve all been waiting for; the sequel to the acclaimed Vetements book that sold out in just one day, making it the most sought after fashion book worldwide.
When flicking through this young fashion bible, centered around the S/S17 collection and shot once again by Pierre-Ange Carlotti, expect analogue images that tell the story of a weekend in which the collective, friends, models and collaborators decamped to a beautiful château in the North of France.
This approach clearly worked wonders for the images; the calm, cool and collected—think: after party—vibe oozes out of the photos, and it’s almost impossible not to wish you were part of the gang. With beautifully composed raw images and outfits prompting serious wardrobe envy, we can see why this is going to be one of the most prodigious book drops this year.
Vetements Summercamp not only allows you to view the latest collection, but does so whilst taking you on a journey to really get to know the (once anonymous) brand, taking you to their parties and introducing you to the people that make up the company.
To show just how confident they are in “the most complete visual collection of a fashion label ever published”, Vetements are currently skipping a show during Paris Fashion Week—instead presenting this second family album. And though it may seem pricey at €50, at 480 pages thick it’s safe to say it’s worth the price tag. Also, the makers promise it’s even “more wild” than the last…
